Shopify contact page template: a designed Contact Us page without code

Quick answer

Shopify's built-in contact page is a plain page with a form. For a designed Contact Us page, install a contact template from Section Cloud's Templates library. It creates a new page at /pages/sco-<template-name> with a contact form and, depending on the template, a map, store info or FAQ. Messages go to your store's sender email, like Shopify's own contact form.

What a contact page should include

Shoppers visit your contact page when they have a question that's stopping them from buying, or a problem with an order. A good page makes it easy to reach you and often answers the question before they need to write.

  • A short heading and a line on how quickly you usually reply
  • A contact form with name, email, an optional phone number and topic, and a message
  • Other ways to reach you: email address, phone, social links
  • A map, address and opening hours if you have a physical shop
  • A few FAQs covering shipping, returns and order changes

Shopify's built-in contact page

Shopify lets you create a contact page by adding a page in Online Store → Pages and choosing the contact theme template. Shopify notes that the contact form sends all submissions to your store's sender email address. See Add a contact page.

That works well, but the layout depends on your theme and is often a single column with a form. A template gives you a ready-made layout around the same kind of form.

Step by step: install a contact page template

  1. Find a contact template

Open Templates and type "contact" in Search your template..., or pick your industry in the Categories sidebar first.

  2. Compare layouts

Click each preview image (marked DEMO). Some contact templates pair the form with a map or store info, others with an FAQ or newsletter.

  3. Install

Click Install, choose a theme and click Install. A new page is created at /pages/sco-<template-name>.

  4. Edit the content

In My library → Templates, click Customize. Update the heading, placeholders, topics and button label in the contact form, and your address and hours in the map section.

  5. Send a test message

Open the page with View page, submit the form, and check that the message arrives in your sender email inbox.

  6. Update your menu

In Online Store → Navigation, point your "Contact" menu item to the new page. See Menus and links.

The template creates a new page. It doesn't replace your existing contact page or your homepage, so remember to update menu links that point to the old page.

Contact form settings you can change

Section Cloud contact form sections use Shopify's standard contact form, so there's nothing extra to connect. Settings vary by section; a typical contact form section includes:

SettingExample value
Heading and Description"Get in touch" / "We reply within one business day."
Name placeholder, Email placeholder"Your name", "Email address"
Show phone field and Phone placeholderOn, "Phone (optional)"
Topic placeholder and Topic options"Choose a topic": Order question, Returns, Wholesale
Message placeholder"How can we help?"
Button label"Send message"
Success message"Thanks! We'll get back to you soon."
LayoutInfo panel position (desktop) left or right, Form column width (desktop)
Edit form labels, topics and the success message in the section's settings.

Map sections typically let you enter your store's details and, where offered, upload a Map image to replace the live Google map with a picture.

The sections on a contact template, and how to edit them

Contact templates combine a few sections. Which ones you get depends on the template, but these are the building blocks and the settings you'll use most:

SectionWhat to edit in the theme editor
✨Template StylesColors for Scheme 1 to Scheme 4, fonts, button style and corners for the whole page. Other sections pick a Color scheme, or tick Use this section's own colors to opt out.
Hero bannerBadge text, Heading, Description, Image (desktop) and Image (mobile), Overlay opacity, and optional button labels and links.
Contact form with info panelThe form settings above, plus Info group blocks (a Label such as Email or Hours and its Text) and Social link blocks (Platform: Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, X or Pinterest, and a Link).
Map with several storesOne Store block per location: Store name, Map address, Address (displayed), Phone, Email, Opening hours, Directions link text and Directions link.
Map with one addressAddress for the map, Info group blocks for address and hours, a Button label for directions and Open directions in a new tab.
  1. Select the section

In My library → Templates, click Customize, then click the section in the left sidebar.

  2. Edit its blocks

Expand the section to see its blocks. Click Add block to add another Info group, Social link or Store, drag blocks to reorder them, and remove the ones you don't need.

  3. Save

Click Save, then check the page on mobile using the device toggle at the top of the editor.

Example: a contact page for a shop with a showroom

  • Hero: "Contact us" with a short line about reply times.
  • Contact form: topics "Order question", "Returns", "Showroom visit"; phone field on.
  • Map: showroom address and opening hours.
  • FAQ: three questions about delivery times, returns and order changes, with a link to your full FAQ page.
A short FAQ on the contact page answers common questions before they're sent.

Need more than a few questions? See FAQ sections and store locations.

Troubleshooting the contact page

  • The topic dropdown is missing. It only shows when Topic options has text. Enter one topic per line.
  • The form shows an error after sending. The email field is required; Shopify's error message appears above the fields when it is empty or invalid.
  • The map shows the wrong place. The map uses Map address (or Address for the map), which is separate from the address text shoppers read. Update both.
  • Clicking a store doesn't move the map. In the multi-store map, clicking a store opens its details and moves the map to it, unless you uploaded a Map image, which replaces the live map.

Tips and common mistakes

  • Check your sender email in Shopify admin before going live, since that's where messages arrive.
  • Keep the form short. Only switch on the phone field if you'll actually call people.
  • Replace sample addresses and hours; template content is placeholder content.
  • Rename the page in Online Store → Pages to "Contact" so it reads well in browser tabs and search results.
  • Match your style with the ✨Template Styles section and the Sections Cloud app embed.
